New Mexico Family Leadership Council

“Our children are the future in our state and it is critical for them to have access to resources and services, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or other factors.”

 -Karen, Sunland Park

Who we are and where we are going:

The New Mexico Family Leadership Council (FLC) was formed in September 2021 with the mission to support and empower parents and caregivers of young children as leaders and advocates in the prenatal-to-three system. Funded through the Pritzker Children’s Initiative and the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD), parent leaders in the FLC are champions for change, advancing family-led solutions in New Mexico.

By sharing personal stories and experiences, we are raising awareness of the challenges New Mexico’s young children and their families face.

In this short time, we have learned to empower each other and advocate for what our children need to succeed. We have made our presence known, and we will continue working until all parents and caregivers of young children are seen as leaders and that families in New Mexico are safe, healthy, happy, and thriving.
