New Mexico Family Leadership Council

“Our children are the future in our state and it is critical for them to have access to resources and services, regardless of race, ethnicity, income, or other factors.”

 -Karen, Sunland Park

Who we are and where we are going:

The New Mexico Family Leadership Council (FLC) was formed in September 2021 with the mission to support and empower parents and caregivers of young children to be leaders and champions for change and advance family-led solutions throughout early childhood systems in New Mexico. Funded through the Pritzker Children’s Initiative, driven parent leaders are discovering their full potential and achieving their advocacy goals.

By sharing personal stories and experiences, we are raising awareness of the challenges New Mexico’s young children and their families face.

In this short time, we have learned to empower each other and advocate for what our children need to succeed. We have made our presence known, and we will continue working until all parents and caregivers of young children are seen as leaders and that families in New Mexico are safe, healthy, happy, and thriving.
